Light Elf is the pseudonym for a Norwegian artist, using the name Lysalv in my own language, meaning the same. My real name is Øystein Tranås Kristiansen. I hail from the region of Trøndelag, speaking that dialect, and carrying those traits. We are known for our toughness and honesty. I'm an educated historian and librarian, but do not work with those professions now. I've also taken one year at the art academy. I've studied art history as well, but nothing came of that.

I've lived a long a long and interesting life, with significant blessings, but also significant challenges. I've touched into most about every genre, and have a large and chaotic portifolio of texts, most of them in Norwegian. The only genres I don't work well with is the European short story (novelle) due to its constrained form, as well as poetry in bound verse.

I'm hard to understand, even for myself, and in many ways carry the trickster or troubadour archetype, with a floating and variable identity, ever shifting and ever evolving. Mercury is my main god. I know without knowing why, and it comes within an abrupt moment. My mind works in unusual ways. I'm talented in certain aspects, and downright stupid in others, and it does not follow a logical or conventional pattern. Facts are not my friend. You might say I live in Australian Dream Time.

My strongest interests are in writing novels, writing philosophy and doing poetry at the side, as well as doing multimedia. Due to my sensitivity, ability of perception and comprehension, and a certain hypersexuality, I'm talented within the erotic.

I'll be honest, as I claimed to be. Philosophy will be hard for me to succeed in, as people are idiots and depend upon authorithy, not the argument itself. I believe my route to success will be within erotic and unrestrained writing. Art should in no way be correct, or sane, or locked to a singular cause. Art is divine, and must reflect as much. Let the spirits in. With this in mind, much of this site will be dedicated to my Opus Magnum, Skiringssal, but I will also show you where my thought has gone, in olden days and at present, and I will show you certain other works of art. There is also a rather large chance there will be some multimedia.

Due to technical and monetary limitations, I won't be able to muster a commenting field.

Some of the texts will be translated from Norwegian mainly by AI. The authorative version of the important works will be available later, as I write the most important stuff in my own language. I must focus on the essential.

This site, and my person, is not at all suitable for people that are overly emotional, ideologically bound, or embracing the singular aspect. I have views and opinions too, but art is it's own field, and art is my mistress. And to her I'm forever bound and serving. Here you will see things you've never seen before, read things you've never imagined, and you should not be distressed.
